Cornerstone Series: A study of the book of Zechariah
In Paul’s letter to the Romans (1:1-2), he describes the “Gospel of God” as having been “promised through [God’s] prophets in the Holy Scriptures concerning His Son.”
Zechariah delivered prophecies to encourage the people of Israel when they were rebuilding the temple after the exile in Babylon. The prophecies Zechariah recorded in this book are full of images and promises regarding the coming of Jesus as Messiah, both Servant and King. In this exciting study, we will discover many connections between the Old and New Testaments -- the promises, the fulfillments, and the future fulfillments at Jesus’ second coming. We still need this encouragement to persevere today.
This study is intended for those who have completed the Foundations for Ministry course and would like to study at a deeper level. There will be about 2-3 hours of homework in preparation for each week's class. The group will meet in the children's wing on Sunday evenings from 6:00- 7:30 pm beginning January 21st.
