Timeline

All Saints’ roots date back to the first Anglican church established in Prince William County in 1667 when a chapel was built on the banks of Quantico Creek in Dumfries.

January 1, 1980

St. Martin's, a mission church in the Dumfries-Quantico area started in 1955 by Trinity Episcopal in Manassas, and Holy Spirit, a mission church in Dale City started in 1963 by St. Margaret’s, merge to form All Saints’. The bishop proposed the merger since St. Martin’s had a building, but no priest, while Holy Spirit had a priest, but no building. Conditions of the merger included calling a new vicar and building a new church in Dale City. The Rev. Chuck Stein, who had been vicar of Holy Spirit, continued as interim vicar of the combined congregations until he retired on Dec. 31, 1980. Paula Woods and Robert Pritchard followed as interim vicars.
