Being diagnosed with cancer is scary. Not only is the disease attacking your body, the what-ifs attack your mind and your spirit.
Our Journey of Hope® is a Bible-based caring ministry, specifically designed to bring emotional and spiritual support to those battling cancer. Through an eight-week training program, participants learn why cancer care ministry is important; what the emotional spiritual, and physical needs of those dealing with cancer are; and what effective and compassionate ministry looks like.
There are many who need this important ministry. According to the American Cancer Society, every year 1.9 million people receive a diagnosis of cancer. Statistically, in a congregation of about 400 people, approximately 16 people are living with cancer and four more will be diagnosed every year.
All Saints’ Church will have an informational meeting for anyone interested in learning about this ministry on Sunday, February 20 at 4 p.m. in the Heaven Room of the Children’s Wing. Please contact Simon Cronje or Lucia Anderson if you have any questions.
