Prayer at the March Food Giveaway

by David Fawcett

We had 46 come through for prayer at the March 8 food pantry. And we had six prayer team members on hand to pray for all the needs.

The bulk of those receiving prayer came through in the first 40 minutes when we had 29.  But we still had three come through for prayer right before we finished at noon.

We had a cross-section of people who requested prayer: Families, individuals, young, older and in between. Some familiar faces; many more new.

The team agreed that the new prayer layout helped with the two sets of chairs arranged near the entrance to the sanctuary this time instead of just one set positioned there and the other back near the penalty box. It provided a better flow.

We handed out all the prayer shawls and the stuffed animals made by the Dorcas Ministry. I also had to go and replenish the stock of Spanish-speaking Bibles.

Typical prayer request needs were for health, family, job, and immigration status.  At least one individual left saying they felt better and strengthened through their prayer session.

Grateful we were able to pray for everyone without feeling rushed. That gave us time to spend with each individual.

Also grateful as always for Rudy and Tammy to translate for us with Spanish-speaking individuals when needed.
