Another Caldecott Medal winner! Marshmallow is an endearingly and beautifully illustrated book about an adorable baby bunny who comes to live in the house of a pampered cat, and the friendship that develops between them. Oliver is a tabby cat who is always the center of attention. Marshmallow is a baby rabbit who moves into Oliver's home. At first Oliver does not welcome Marshmallow, but the little bunny's charms are impossible to resist. This is the true story of how Oliver and Marshmallow become friends.
And because bunnies love to eat carrots, we will grow some in our Spring activity craft! Children are invited to make a bunny plant holder, complete with carrot seeds they can plant themselves. If cared for, they may have some baby carrots by Fall, or they can replant (once rooted) in a garden bed.
Juice and snack provided.
