Staying Apart Together

Apart Together Update as of Friday, May 8

Stay in Touch Online!

Missing your weekly fellowship? At All Saints’ Church your ministry leaders are working behind the scenes to bring back as many opportunities to “e-gather” and stay in the Word together. Right now you can attend “Zoom” meetings with the Tuesday and Thursday morning Women’s Bible Studies. Very soon we will also be bringing the Men’s Saturday Morning Bible Study back online, as well as enable some of the other small groups (who aren’t already) to continue to meet. Plus, we now have a WEEKLY BIBLE QUIZ available to test your knowledge. Visit our Adult Resources Page for information on the offerings below and more.

Thursdays: Peacemaking Women | Tuesdays: Time with the Archbishop | Weekly Bible Quiz

Children's Ministry Parking Lot Picnic

Friday, May 15, from Noon-1 p.m, at Southlake Park, Montclair/Dumfries, 5070 Higgins Drive. Pack a picnic lunch (or pickup Chik-Fil-A!), load up the kids, and let's enjoy a hangout out of the hatchback of our cars, distanced within the bounds of our own vehicles, while waving and distantly visiting with All Saints’ Church families and friends. Bring a lawnchair for you, and the kids can sit in the open area of your vehicle! Bring a stroller for the littles. We will keep this no more than the hour so wiggly children can move on with their day.  Let's Lunch!

Your Journey from Mourning to Joy

GriefShare.png

A new GriefShare online class from 6-8 p.m. is beginning Monday June 10 and ending 13 weeks later on Monday, August 24. The Rev. Julie Tilton will facilitate each class. GriefShare is designed to help people grieving the loss of a loved one. GriefShare’s content and its three-component design (video seminar, small group discussion, and workbook) work together to help participants along that journey. Find out more here. (The link is good…it just won’t change colors).

COMING SOON: Zoom into Coffee Hour!

Grab your favorite “cuppa” and join our Zoom coffee hour Sundays at 11:30 a.m. until noon after our virtual worship service. We’re still working on the details, but hope to be able to go live by next Sunday, May 17. The link for participating will be on the church website under “coffee hour.”

All Saints’ Church Serving in our community

Members of All Saints' Church are using their gifts to bless first responders, family, and friends in our community! One parishioner in the Needlework Ministry has made hundreds of masks which have been delivered to the Prince William County Police Department, nursing homes, businesses, fire stations, and hospitals. Our Staff and Vestry Members have received them also, along with a grouping for our children, should they need them, when they return to Sunday School!

All Saints' Church has been called upon by the county to provide food for families in need who contact the PWC Food Line. We will be packing food from our pantry for these families in need beginning Monday, May 11.

Ways you can help! Sign up at https://www.pwfoodrescue.org/ to pick up and deliver food for families in need in our community.

Thank you All Saints’ family, for finding creative ways to use your gifts to bless those in need!

BCP.JPG

If you purchased a prayer book and it has become damaged, you can bring your old book in to exchange it for a NEW one! Also, if you missed the opportunity to purchase one last fall, you can purchase one for $17. Please call the office to make an exchange or purchase Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 703-670-0093.

Prayer After Sunday Services

For one hour following our online Sunday worship services (11 a.m. – Noon), Prayer Team members will be available to pray with All Saints’ parishioners. This is our means of continuing the ministry normally offered by Prayer Teams during communion. Anyone who would like to receive prayer over the phone, please contact us by sending an e-mail to prayerteams@allsaintswoodbridge.org. Provide your request at any time, however you will only be contacted between 11 a.m. and noon on Sundays. This prayer will be short and focused, just as it has been at the back of the church during communion. All are encouraged to send prayer requests to the All Saints’ Church Prayer Center online via the front page of our website and designated prayer personnel affiliated with our Prayer Center will pray for you as well.

Sunday Service CDs Available

Our weekly streaming services are accessible via The All Saints’ Church YouTube channel. For those unable to watch on YouTube, this and ALL recorded services during this season are available via audio CD recordings upon request. Email office@allsaintswoodbridge.org with your request and we’ll mail a copy to you.

Food Pantry Update: Thank You, Thank You!

We've had 14 families come through the food pantry recently! Thank you to everyone who has made a contribution to the food pantry - you are making a difference in people's lives, and they are so grateful!

NEW—We are now accepting hamburger and chicken for the Food pantry! We have a small freezer that we've been given permission to use at the church to keep it in! We'd love to offer hamburger, chicken and tuna helper to go along with this new addition! Thank you for your generous donations!

Our Pantry’s greatest needs are:
1. Individual snacks (peanut butter crackers, cookies, granola bars, popcorn, fruit snacks, etc.)
2. Canned ravioli with pop-tops
3. Ramen/Cup of Noodle/Maruchan chicken or beef flavored soups
4. Sides - Instant mashed potatoes or rice

Rocky Railway VBS . . . coming this summer!

rockyRailwayLogo.JPG

Our Vacation Bible School theme this year is just the ticket in all of our lives as we adjust to new schedules, changes, trials, and transitions. In anticipation that the church will re-open again at least sometime this summer, we are preparing for a faith-filled adventure where kids discover that Jesus's power pulls us through! After prayerful planning, we believe a July or August, on-site VBS is the best approach this year, and plans are in the works to make it an event to remember! Children and their friends will track through Bible Adventures, explore science and crafts at Imagination Station, worship at Sing & Play Express, experience other energetic Railroad stations, and of course romp in the church backyard in Locomotion Games. More details coming soon!

Climb Aboard to Covid Creativity!
Help us Stay On Track...and create!

Calling all ages to help from home! As we make plans to climb aboard for mountains of fun at Rocky Railway VBS and since we cannot gather at the church for decorating parties, we want to extend an invitation for families and individuals to use your time at home for a great ministry project. We have 12 projects that can be done at home to begin preparing for this big adventure. Some are biggies and others could be completed in a fun afternoon; our goal is to have these completed by June 15. Consider watching this video to get your creative juices flowing and get more information about some of the decorating ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5mjChxWsdQ&t=214s and https://vbstools.group.com/rocky-railway/ The church is happy to help provide supplies you are unable to collect yourself or don't already have lying around your house. Help the church be ready to reach out to our neighborhood children and families this summer!

Caring for Each Other

Help for the Homebound

If you are among the high-risk population who must remain home but need groceries, prescriptions, or any other assistance, please let us know—your church family will take care of you. Email the church office at office@allsaintswoodbridge.org with your need and someone from our Caring Ministries team will get back with you.

Conversely…

If you are not among the high-risk population and are available to run errands for members of our church family who cannot leave home, please email the same address with your contact information and we will add you to our list of volunteers. And THANK YOU for that.
