January Sunday School Updates for All Ages!
Starting Sunday, January 8 new and continuing offerings for children, teens, and adults resume during the education hour from 9:45-10:45. Take a look at each offering below, including a new series for Children’s Church!
Children
Sunday School .....We kick off Sunday, January 8th with a LIVE visit from the 3 singing and costumed Kings, followed by a lesson on 'The Magi Worship Jesus.' In the following weeks, we continue on our adventure with Simply Loved lessons from God's forgiveness to Jesus is our forever friend. These lessons engage kids with memorable Bible Points, teacher-led, interactive lessons and stories, top-notch worship music videos, and even Bible Memory Buddies each week with videos that provide a window into God's amazing creation.
Children's Church.....When people say “let’s face it,” what they mean is “let’s be painfully honest.” During the “Let’s Face It” series, we’re going to be “painfully honest” about how sin affects us, but we’ll also be honest about the power that Jesus has to forgive us and change our lives. And here’s the really fun part— during “Let’s Face It,” we’ll be taking the expression a bit more literally. Kids will get to use their artistic talents to create and wear fun masks for the telling of the Big Bible Story. The “Journey Today Show” returns as the JTS crew in this fun-filled show uniquely designed to be an interactive experience that leads kids towards faith in Jesus. With built in Bible reading and discussion and LIVE teacher-led lessons, each children's church has as much learning as laughter. It’s a hilarious way to help kids learn and grow in their faith! Ages mature 3 and up.
Adults
Make a New Year’s resolution now to attend the Adult Education Hour for the “Behold” series of teachings starting January 8. In this day and age, do we really know how to behold? How to stop still, to cease all else, to give our full attention and searching gaze to what is before us? In the Behold series of teachings we will take the time to stop and “behold” Jesus. We will focus on four important subjects or themes regarding Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
1. Behold the Incarnation!
2. Behold the Bridegroom!
3. Behold He Comes!
4. Behold the Bema Seat!
“The Heart of the Family” Sunday School......Beginning Sunday, January 8th, 945-1045am. Over 6 weeks, parents are invited to a family-centered Sunday School class in the Creation Room (children's wing) while your children are cared for and engaged in their own Sunday School class, or nursery. Combining digital media lessons, a downloadable study-guide, and "conversation over coffee," this class is designed to share the principles that Kirk and Chelsea Cameron have learned in nearly 30 years of marriage and parenting. They are solid, biblically-based, and faith-filled, bringing the lessons God has taught them to you and growing you as a spouse and as a parent. It’s an investment not just in your family and culture, as Heaven starts in the home and flows out to our precious children. Whether your children are growing or grown, all parents are invited.
Teens
Middle School… The new year sees the start to a new series in Middle School Sunday School! We will be going through The Bible Project series on The Torah, as we explore the stories of the Old Testament! This will help set our foundation for the series starting in Lent on Luke-Acts! Join us in the Admin conference room with donuts!
High School… The High School class will continue its in depth discussions of the week’s Gospel readings during the Sunday School Hour. These discussions allow the high school students to share their own takeaways, learn from applicable teaching, and enjoy donuts together!
Un-Trim-A-Tree Update!
On Saturday, December 17 parents of the Un-Trim-A-Tree children picked up the gifts All Saints’ Church provided for their children. We served about 60 families, and about 160 children! Each child received two gifts, so we provided over 300 gifts. Thank you for your generosity. And thank you to Lisa Fair and Lindsey Powers for their amazing organizational skills and hard work. They also shopped for the children whose names had not been selected and were still shopping the morning of the day the parents were arriving to pick up the gifts. Next year they hope to enlarge their team to help with serving even more children. Please consider volunteering for the Un-Trim-A-Tree team next year!
A Thank You From Jessica+
Take a look at the thank you note from Jessica+ to the All Saints’ Church parishioners!
Dear Saints,
I cannot thank you enough for your love, prayers, support, and encouragement as I’ve faced this rather unexpected surgery and diagnosis. I so love and appreciate all the cards, and I need more table space to display them all!
In the hospital, a common question is whether a patient has a support system at home. My answer was always that I have an army, because the body of Christ is a beautiful army, serving each other as Jesus would. I am so honored to be a member of this family.
Blessings,
Jessica+

Opportunity to Serve! Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Start the new year off by volunteering once a month to serve as a Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM). Don’t let that title scare you off. You encounter this team each Sunday! We are the ones assisting the Clergy during communion and at other times during the service. It’s easy to learn, and best of all, we only require your commitment one Sunday a month at either the 8:15 am or 11:00 am service. This is a very meaningful way to serve your church family and we need a few new members to join this exceptional team. Contact Dave Conner to learn more about the LEM ministry.
New GriefShare Group Starting January 9
Dorcas Ministry- New Name for a New Year!
The Dorcas Ministry (previously known as the Needlework Ministry) will resume meeting Saturday January 7, 2023, in the Children’s Wing (Heaven room) 9:30-11:30 a.m. You are welcome to bring crocheting, knitting, sewing, and other items to work on while we are gathered, as well as items you have completed. We will bless and collect completed items for distribution to the poor, the sick, and the needy.
Why did we change the name? The word needlework refers to a small subset of what we create for others and we wanted a name that speaks to a broader application. Dorcas was a disciple of Jesus and lived in the town of Joppa, a city on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. She was a charitable person who made things for the needy. You can read about her in Acts 9:36-42, including Peter’s restoration of her life.
A Note From the Bookkeeper
As the End of the Year Approaches There are several things to keep in mind.
Firstly, all check requests (for reimbursement, payment of invoices, etc.) must be submitted to the church office as soon as possible but no later than Monday, January 2. Please help us to capture all 2022 expenses in the 2022 financial statements.
Secondly, it is important to have any 2022 contributions to All Saints’ turned into the church before the year end (this year that is Friday, December 30) if they are to be posted to the 2022 end of the year contribution statements. Payments received after the end of the year will appear on your 2023 contributions statements.
Thirdly, thank you to all those who have completed their pledge cards indicating their commitment to God through their offerings for 2023. To those who have not yet made a pledge concerning your giving for the coming year, please do so as soon as possible. The Vestry is working on the budget for 2023, and all pledges are extraordinarily important in determining how we all as saints together will move forward in our mission to do God’s work. You may pledge online via the church website or by calling the church office if you need to request a pledge card. Thank you!
If you have questions, please email our bookkeeper, Lynne Cheney.
